In 2010, ICE established a separate property management company to develop the Group’s properties and attract additional tenants to its Galati facilities, which formerly accommodated more than one thousand technical, scientific and
support staff.

Last month ICE welcomed as a new tenant the local office of RINA, the well-known Italian ship classification society. RINA joins another two leading international classification societies – Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and DNV-GL – which both
have rented office space from ICE for several years.

The addition of RINA reinforces the marine technology centre status of ICE’s Romanian office. It is at the core of a long-established ship technical cluster that also include three large shipyards (Vard Tulcea, Vard Braila and Damen Galati), the naval architecture faculty of the Galati University, and several ship equipment companies and smaller ship design companies.
