One of ICE’s experienced engineers recently performed a 3D laser scanning and survey on-board a vehicle carrier, with focus on the engine room.  He produced an accurate Point Cloud database, which was delivered to the client to allow design work to start within a few days after the scanning was completed.

Florin Flor, ICE’s coordinator for retrofit services, says:

By September 2024, as mandated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the majority of ocean-going vessels shall comply with the Ballast Water Management (BWM) Convention. With its experience in vessel retrofit and conversion, ICE has already assisted many ship owners to meet the regulations by performing engineering studies including Class approval for equipment selection and on-board integration. We stand ready to help additional clients meet the regulations in the short time remaining before the deadline for compliance.
