On January 25th, ICE’s Isle of Man office enjoyed the visit of the Nippon Kaiji Kyokai classification society (“ClassNK”), represented by Dr Abdul Rahim, Corporate Officer and Managing Director (Europe & Africa) and Mr Tatsuya Hayashi, Deputy General Manager and Principal Surveyor at the UK subsidiary. They were accompanied by Mr Lars Ugland, a highly respected Isle of Man-based shipowner who is now also non-executive Chairman of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. Mr Draegebo, ICE’s Chairman and CEO, briefed the visitors of ICE’s activities, including the many projects ICE has performed for Japanese customers and its experience with ClassNK.
