In December last year, ICE attended the “Sustainable Shipbuilding Models for the Future” conference in Rijeka, Croatia. Organized by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Zagreb, Green Yard Kleven, and KONGSBERG, the invitation-only event attracted over 80 participants from Croatian and international companies. Discussions focused on the transition to a greener, more sustainable maritime sector, with particular attention to collaboration and knowledge exchange between Norway and Croatia.
Opened by the Norwegian Ambassador, Arne Sannes Bjørnstad, several industry experts contributed with insightful presentations, followed by discussions. The conference emphasized Norway’s openness to cooperation with stakeholders in Croatia, highlighting the region’s marine industry tradition, skilled workforce, and potential for sustainable shipbuilding.
Steinar Draegebo, Chairman and CEO, Jason Nunn, Business Development Director, and Mate Lukas, Country Manager for Croatia represented ICE at the event. ICE set up its Croatian office in Split in 2019 and has recently launched a recruitment campaign to build up its activities in the region throughout 2025.
ICE representatives are pictured here together with Zlatko Ivančević (second from right), one of the Conference’s organisers and Managing Director of Navis Consult (a Kongsberg Company), one of ICE’s Croatian clients.
