ICE has begun work with Seaspan Shipyards to provide specialist Cadmatic 3D modelling support for Canada’s Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPI) and Heavy Polar Icebreaker programmes. Both projects are part of the Canadian Coast Guard’s National Shipbuilding Strategy.

Initial training sessions were held in Galati in late August, with teams from ICE and Seaspan working together to prepare for the detailed design phase. The collaboration draws on ICE’s extensive experience in complex vessel design and advanced 3D modelling to help deliver these critical polar-class vessels.

ICE has earlier designed a series of patrol vessels for the Canadian Coast Guard, built by Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has repeatedly provided design services for the Davie shipyard in Quebec.
