In late October, a senior management team from the ICE Group visited Damen Shipyards Mangalia in Romania. There they met with Mr Sofien Lamiri, Managing Director and Liana Constantin, Corporate Affairs Director, to discuss cooperation on upcoming projects. They also enjoyed a tour of the yard, generously guided by Mr Lamiri.

The Damen Shipyards Mangalia is one of Europe’s largest shipyards, with impressive production and drydocking facilities. ICE has had a long-standing relationship with the yard going back to when it was a state-operated company, at which time ICE’s Romanian subsidiary Icepronav designed numerous ships built at the yard. The yard was later managed by the Korean Daewoo Group, and more recently by the Dutch Damen Group.
