In its 60-year history, Icepronav Engineering SRL and its predecessor and affiliated companies (ICE) have provided a training ground and career path for many ship design professionals. Most joined ICE after gaining degrees in naval architecture or other engineering disciplines at Galati University, often combined with practical shipyard experience.
Over the years, several former colleagues have gone on to successful careers elsewhere in the marine industry, both in Romania and internationally.
During 2026, ICE will highlight the careers of some well-known alumni whose professional paths reflect the depth of experience developed within the organisation.
The first profile, to be featured in our February 2026 newsletter, will focus on Dragos Rauta, who after leaving Icepronav S.A. in 1989 went on to become Technical Director of INTERTANKO, an international organisation representing many of the world’s leading tanker owners.
Suggestions for other Icepronav alumni whose careers would be suitable for inclusion in future features are welcome.
