This summer, ICE again arranged its traditional summer programme for students from the Faculty of Naval Architecture of the “Dunarea de Jos” University. Many of ICE’s employees holds graduate or post graduate degrees from this internationally recognised university, with which ICE has a long-standing relationship.

The six-week programme took the participants through major aspects of a fully operational multi-discipline ship design office, starting with the technical bases all the way through to the project and quality management systems. The program also included career guidance, overview of legal framework of employment, and other subjects to prepare the students for a future in the marine industry.

Petrica Necula, Engineering Director of ICE and tutor of this year’s program commented on the event: “ICE offers structured internships to students that will directly benefit their education and their career”.
