As a long-standing partner of the Galati University, ICE was invited in mid-May, along with other regional employers in the fields of shipbuilding, ship design, and related activities, to meet with a Commission from the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS). This Commission was conducting a routine visit to the Faculty of Naval Architecture of the Galati University to monitor its high quality of teaching and research.
The following day, the ARACIS representatives visited ICE’s main design offices, where they were briefed on ICE’s resources and capabilities and had an opportunity to look at ongoing internal development projects. ICE’s management also briefed the Commission about the career development opportunities offered by ICE to graduate naval architects and engineers, as well as about the successful internship programs that ICE each year organise for a group of selected students.
Almost all ICE employees have a solid academic background with degrees in naval architecture or other engineering disciplines, combined with practical ship design and shipyard experience. Many were awarded their degrees from the Galati University.
The picture shows the ARACIS delegation together with the Dean and other University faculty members and ICE management in front of ICE’s primary office building.
