ICE has previously participated with MARIN (Maritime Research Institute) and other research institutes on the Space@Sea project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program.
Maarten Flikkema, the erstwhile Project Coordinator for Space@Sea, is now organizing a consortium to cooperate on a three-year study to develop innovative methods for installing and decommissioning offshore wind farms, financed under a new EU Horizon R&D program. He recently visited ICE to discuss the new project, which would be based on ICE’s ABS-approved DeltaLifter technology, adapted to the new generation of large offshore wind turbines.
