The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has recently announced its decision to end its twice-extended lease for office space at ICE’s premises in Galați, the Romanian city closest to the borders separating Romania, Ukraine and Moldova.

ICE welcomed UNHCR as a tenant in 2022. Since then, the UNHCR field office in Galați has  provided practical and humanitarian assistance to more than 300,000 refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.

In its termination notice to ICE, UNHCR expressed gratitude for the support received:

“The professional service and support ICE have consistently delivered have been invaluable to our operations, and we are grateful for the positive working relationship we have developed.”

Prestigious organizations hosted by ICE include international classification societies Det Norske Veritas, Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, and RINA, as well as client representatives from oil companies, ship owners and international engineering companies. Currently, an FPSO operator and an oil company have representatives stationed in ICE’s Galati office as part of ongoing contracts.

Within walking distance from hotels, shops and restaurants, ICE tenants enjoy access to a shared canteen, on-site parking, a variety of meeting and video-conferencing rooms, and 24/7 security. ICE welcomes new tenants who value a professional and well-equipped working environment.
